DR. MINGU JUMAAN

Dr. Hj Mingu Hj. Jumaan is a Director of the State Computer Services Department. He received his early education in IT at the University Technology of MARA with a Diploma in Computer Science. Then he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Applied Mathematics from Western Michigan University, USA. He w ent on to obtain a Master of Science in Computer Science from Central Michigan University, USA.

He then made a PhD. in Computer Science at the University of Malaya. With 30 years of experience in the IT field, throughout his career, he was heavily involved in the consultation, planning, procurement, network, research and development of application systems and information security (IT). As SCSD Director, Dr. Mingu involved in the committee in relation to the development and implementation of IT in the State Environment. He is the head of State of ICT Security Officer, Secretariat of State Chief Information Officers (CIO) and Executive Committee of the State Civil Service ICT Security. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the State ICT such as State Technical Agencies Comitte on IT Development and Sabah State Government Computer Emergency Response Team (sgCERT).

He is also a member of the State committee of the Inter-Agencies Planning Group for IT Sector. Outside of the State Public Sector, he was a member of the Malaysian National Computer Confederation (Malaysian National Computer Confederation, MNCC), a professional organization which has a membership of IFIP (International Federation Information Processing) and SEARCC (South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation).
